Near Death Benefits

Sep 21, 2015

Dog_Poster_JPEG.jpgAs most of you know about 7 months ago I almost died. I was a class 5 in the ER, but I made it through.

Anyway, yesterday someone asked about my experience. They asked if I saw a bright light or something else, or if I smelled or felt something strange. I answered, "No, I didn't notice anything supernatural happening."

I WAS thinking about 2 things. 1. I was thinking about how when President Reagan, describing being shot, said he was "hungry for air." That's how I felt. 2. I was worried about my dogs. I wasn't afraid of dying. I just wanted to make sure my dogs would be taken care of and that they'd have good homes.

Which brings us to this: This coming weekend I am doing a benefit (which I plan to make an October tradition) for a dog rescue group. This particular organization rescues dogs that are scheduled for euthanasia (See how I worked in the "near death" connection!) and finds foster homes for them. The money raised by this fundraiser will supply money for the foster dog parents to pay for food, healthcare and other necessities until the dogs find permanent homes.

The benefit flyer is above. Hope to see you at Jake's Sports & Spirits on Saturday, Sept. 26th at 8:00. Donation is just $10 and the show will feature Comedy Hypnotist Rusty Z and veteran Denver comedian Vince Curran.

Come out and help the near death dogs live a long and happy life!
